·         Gap Analysis

The output gaps from the last step must be studied and see whether it will be developed or not and what will be the time schedule for the development and testing stages.

·         Proposal

According to the data collected till now and the requirements known a technical and financial proposal must be issued.

Proposal points:

                                          i.    Targeted & clear.
ii.    Don't send proposal at first, to be sure that it is not a competitor activity and also to make sure that he is interested since he may accept your price after not before seeing the demo, but u may give him round figure if needed but it is the last card when asking about the budget.
iii.    If proposal is huge so we must tell that I need not just sending but meeting to interpret a lot of points that may be needs explanation.
iv.    One may ask if u need copies to complete your info of decision makers if needed.
                                        v.    Validity is an important point, since it may be fatal in some cases.

Pricing by standard not by the negotiated prices and let negotiations be resulted in the contract, and we may say that all of our offers and prices as well almost must be std., but if we reaches different price it will be listed in the contract no in the offer or P.O. , except in rare cases if needed.

·         Objection Handling

After studying and discussing the proposal some objections may take place whether due to pricing [negotiations] issues or implementation or technical issues.

·         Closing

The last step including contracting terms and its predicted negotiations till closing the deal.

·         Demonstration

This is the step of making the presentation or/and life demo t the customer the output of this step is to assure the technical qualification in step 1 and to get the direct feedback of the prospect and mentioning the gaps if exists.

Basic Points for presentation:

Presentation Skills that must be available in presenter or presales:

  1. Self confidence.
  2. Eye & Body Language.
  3. Speech, voice and focus.
  4. Focus on all.
  5. Lead the audience.
  6. Notes to remember.
  7. Accurate and brief and details when needed.
  8. AIDA, attention, interest, desire, action OR LOCATE, listens, observe, combine [talk & listen], ask, talk to others, emphasize.
  9. 20 minutes then try refreshing …. So one must alter or ask questions as: does this meets your business requirements, or does your old software made this before or above or don't, we think we are good at this for example [ofis] don't have this and we don't know if other had made this or not….
  10. Focus on product, services and the company, company by years, references, owners…. Product by features and services through technical structure and after sales services as support. No one may start by the demo once and the features, but try first to (LOCATE) then company then services and the product features at the end.
  11. Focus first on competition if known, if not so try to complete your qualification outputs by trying to know and don't tell every thing until know first and also we might make another demo by technical man, this is a demo overview only …. A lot of reasons.
  12. Don't tell any about competition except through features, any other known data about competition to be said through the rest of the selling cycle or some at the phone first.
  13. How to know comp/old through demo: by questions as follows:

    1. Tell me briefly about your business , I knew from the phone that … but I need to listen 5 minutes to u directly to confirm the data and if thing missing and through his speech and how is this handled now, or how would u like this to be handled so he will tell u I saw…. Or tell me u so u will tell him and see his reactions and ask him about feedback to analyze competition so u must first choose a strong point ur app can handle.
    2. Have u seen like this before?
    3. Do u need this?
    4. Does this feature been used by ur staff before and how?
    5. This feature had been made after a contract from about 6 months for a certain customer who had used delta and they don't so he replaces it by us?
    6. Attract and squeeze, stick and carrot.
    7. Ur business need now or then to communicate ur branches as we made for references…. any [so u must choose an available point to gain trust, and also a needed point for his business, and a non-available in all sws] do u know that in a certain deal the competitor with out names and bad mouth told the customer that he will communicate through the web and that this is available currently and opened an interface and the customer trusted and then the feature was under development and of course when he knew from us he told them he want to experiment it life so they told him it will be finished after one month…!!!!!

n.        Brief first then details brief to attract him by certain points upon the qualification as product features he already needs and don't have, technical structure for those who have this pain, company branches and references for those who want stability ….
  1. Not from your point of view but from the business point of view.
  2. Different approaches according to the audience, technical or financial or decision maker's reports and analysis so benefits and cost reductions ….better decisions…
  3. Ur way not the audience way but to be flexible… ohh this point is very important u are very clever , it seems u have applied several software before…[this will make him proud of himself through his staff and colleagues and also likes u] but at the end " I will go through well when I go to the inventory to keep demo integrity and don't interrupt them…also this may be done when a feature u see it is very important to them and it will definitely cancel the sale if not available NOW…..

Or I think we are the one to be afraid since all of your experiences and afraid ness will be attacking us so u will get the benefit and we will face a lot of bad history doubting our work till the end, also we might tell him an example of our success in replacement so that may make him trust us.

*       12. I am feeling too much sales pressure,

Answer, I've heard that a lot and I can tell u which companies talked to u and make u mad of the pressure and at the end they haven't offered a professional packages or new ideas or at least 10% of what we are offering companies as [references ….] to trust, and so he will tell what do u offer….

*        14. Ok I will think about this number, or let me some time, or I wonder if it will be 10 not 25 ,

Answer, Ok why some time, actually I was wondering that u have prepared the P.O. I saw we have finished all of our cycle, so pls. tell me why to delay??? If pricing and if u are sure he is serious tell him we have made a lot so leave him, if not & u r afraid he is not serious tell him a definite period as validity as to try to get you the final discount if applicable if purchase through this period as if you are giving your self another chance to think and come back to him again, but with serious level of speech that we have already done a lot of discounts that we can.

·         Qualification

The objective of this first and important phase is to qualify the prospect technically and financially, technically to obtain the result whether he and our applications is fitting to each other or not, and financially to obtain whether he can afford a budget to purchase the software or not.

This phase includes some tasks as follows:

- Lead generation: generating prospects [Leads] from different sources such as directories, channels, relations, ads, newspapers, databases, websites …etc. then start the qualification process via telephone call first.

- Telephone calls: we can nominate it [Cold Calling], it is a matter of making an ad, as if u r getting one from his shirt or saying him see this billboard, or saying to him do u want to buy this… a marketing or advertising issue not to sell directly but to ad so each salesman must know before he starts that he is doing an ad so he must be precise, briefly talking and introducing what he wants in few minutes also collecting needed data to make a complete needed database of prospects with some basic important data that may be needed currently or in the future.

- The speech must be 2 way not one way, i.e. dialogue not monologue.

- Some points to lead the speech and get benefits:
